Hi, I'm Ben

Based in Auckland, I'm a wedding filmmaker who has been capturing couples in love for over a decade.

I'm passionate about creating films that are a true reflection of you, your love story and your perfect day in the best way possible. I focus on the emotion, the story and the people who matter to you most.

In a world of photo/video hybrids, I've chosen to double down on being a specialist in my craft. I host "Make Better Wedding Films", one of the top wedding filmmaking podcasts in the world and have interviewed incredible filmmakers from all over globe.

 Wedding Films

My primary offering for couples is the wedding film - this is the film that you'll rewatch every anniversary, will bring back all the memories and emotions of the day and will be the thing you hopefully show your grandkids one day.

I work with all my couples to make their wedding film feel completely unique to them, weaving together all the special words from the vows and speeches, creating a custom score and highlighting all the most important people on the day.

I have three options for wedding film lengths

5 Minute

10 Minute

20 Minute

For single day weddings, I suggest going with either the 5 or 10min options and for multi-day events 10 or 20.

I have a “no regrets” philosophy to the way I work, which means that I always capture EVERYTHING… No matter what package you initially book in at, I always capture the wedding day with the same level of detail. I always capture all the audio and all the key events from multiple angles.

Why?

You're going to wake up, the morning after your wedding and realise that you can't remember a thing, it all went by in such a blur and you want to relive that incredible day again and again and again… this is the power of video - and it's why I always allow room for couples to increase the length of their film, or add extra edits later down the line if they want to.

FREE Content Creation

When you book a wedding film package with me, you also get a complete content creation package included - something vendors charge upwards of $2000 for.

I capture everything myself, using a special rig that attaches my phone to my camera, meaning I never miss a moment and there aren't extra vendors floating around on the day.

Everything is captured with an eye for sharing online, showcasing you, and all the details of your incredible day.

What is content creation?

Beautiful, raw, low-fi videos and photos (captured on iPhone) delivered to you in 24 hours or less.

WHY CONTENT CREATION?

It's simple, Content Creation allows me to do more for my couples - for you. It let's you wake up on the morning after your wedding and re-live your day all again. All the little moments that go by in an instant, captured in a beautiful, authentic way. It's recorded on a phone, because we capture our lives on a phone. That little camera in our pocket is how we see the world now.

I create wedding films as something to treasure for a lifetime - something you'll show your grandkids one day. They take a long time to produce, but I know the wait is worth it.

Drone Footage

I always bring the drone…

As long as the weather and location allow, I always aim to capture some content from the air. Whether it's a dramatic ceremony entrance or a beautiful remote location, aerial cinematography is just another tool in my kit to capture your story in the best way possible.

Raw Footage

I offer two types of raw footage to couples.

Literal “raw footage” - meaning the files that come off the SD card given directly to you is purely for archiving and storage purposes. The files that come off my camera are in a weird file format… the colours are all desaturated so that I can manipulate them better in post… the audio is all recorded separately for safety… it's a hot mess basically (unless you're a professional video editor, in which case it's ideal).

If you're looking for a "raw footage” experience where you can pop on a 1-2 hour long video of all the footage captured from the day in chronological order, no music etc. then I offer a “doc edit” to fill this need.
